Everyday Discovery
Nursery Activities and Learning Resources
The London Kids Nursery programme for children aged 3–4 years combines purposeful play, guided activities and age-appropriate learning resources. These experiences encourage participation, curiosity, communication and growing independence without unnecessary academic pressure.
1. Stories, Rhymes and Conversations
Teacher-led stories, action rhymes, songs and classroom conversations support listening, vocabulary, memory, pronunciation and confident expression.
2. Matching, Sorting and Puzzles
Matching pictures, sorting objects, patterns and age-appropriate puzzles encourage observation, concentration, early number awareness and problem-solving.
3. Sensory and Hands-On Exploration
Play dough, textured materials, building blocks and hands-on resources strengthen coordination, hand control, curiosity and creative thinking.
4. Art, Music and Movement
Drawing, colouring, painting, music, dance and action activities support self-expression, balance, body awareness and motor development.
5. Worksheets and Pre-Writing Activities
Age-appropriate worksheets, scribbling, tracing, colouring and patterns gradually develop visual coordination, pencil control and pre-writing readiness.
6. Guided Animated Learning Content
Teacher-guided animated stories, rhymes and visual content reinforce classroom concepts while remaining balanced with conversation, movement and hands-on play.
Learning Through Experience
How Junior KG Children Learn
In Junior KG, children aged 4–5 years explore letters, numbers and ideas through stories, games, puzzles and projects. Teachers guide them to ask questions, try solutions, draw and work with friends. These experiences build language, early maths and confidence.
Language & Letter Sounds
Stories, rhymes and sound games help children hear sounds in words and recognise familiar letters. Talking about pictures and events helps them explain their ideas.
Counting & Problem-Solving
Children count real objects, compare sizes, sort shapes and complete puzzles. These activities help them see number patterns and find simple solutions.
Pre-Writing & Creative Work
Tracing, drawing, colouring and craft work help children control a pencil and form early shapes and letters. They use art to show what they have learned.
Play, Projects & Teamwork
Building, role play and group games teach children to take turns, plan and work with friends. Short teacher-guided animations can support the same classroom ideas.
Growing with Confidence
Understanding Junior KG Progress and Preparing for Senior KG
Understanding Progress
In the London Kids Junior KG programme for children aged 4–5 years, teachers observe children during stories, games, creative work and group activities. They notice how a child describes an idea, recognises letter sounds, counts objects, spots patterns, uses a pencil and tries to solve simple problems. Listening to others, sharing materials and following classroom instructions are also part of their progress. These everyday observations help teachers understand which skills are developing and where a child may benefit from more practice. London Kids Child Growth Reports help parents see a broader picture of their child’s learning, confidence and overall development.
Preparing for Senior KG
Junior KG builds on the skills children will use in Senior KG. Stories, rhymes and sound games help them hear sounds in words, connect sounds with letters and learn new vocabulary. Counting objects, sorting, patterns and puzzles develop early number understanding and thinking skills. Drawing, tracing and craft activities improve hand control for writing. Children also practise explaining their ideas, working with classmates and completing activities with more than one step. Teachers introduce new challenges gradually and offer help when needed, so children can move to Senior KG with growing confidence.

Why Play Group
What Is the Junior KG Programme?
The London Kids Junior KG programme is designed for children aged 4–5 years. It builds on Nursery experiences by combining purposeful play with gradually structured, teacher-guided learning. Stories, rhymes, conversations, art, movement, games and hands-on activities keep children engaged while helping them understand classroom routines and participate with growing independence.
Children begin developing early literacy and numeracy through age-appropriate activities such as listening for sounds, recognising letters, building vocabulary, tracing patterns, counting objects, comparing quantities, sorting and solving simple puzzles. Practical experiences help children connect new ideas with everyday life rather than learning through memorisation alone.
The programme also supports communication, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, cooperation and emotional confidence. Teachers observe each child’s participation and provide support according to their learning pace. By balancing play, exploration and structured practice, Junior KG helps children strengthen foundational skills and become more confident, curious and prepared for Senior KG.
